Dev Patel is a John M. Olin Fellow in Empirical Law and Finance and a third-year PhD student in the Harvard Economics Department. Under this fellowship, he is examining how expanding the poor’s access to formal financial institutions impacts structural transformation during India’s rural banking boom.
