William Powley

Dr. William Powley is a Fellow of the Program on Corporate Governance. His current research focuses in the area of law and economics. Select papers include Are Star Law Firms Also Better Lawyers? (with Allen Ferrell, Katya Neretina, Alberto Manconi, and Luc Renneboog) and Other Litigation: A New Measure of Ex Ante Securities Litigation Risk. Dr. Powley’s research has been presented at the National Bureau of Economic Research Law and Economics Conference and other leading conferences. In his free time, Dr. Powley has helped inspiring entrepreneurs start and build successful businesses and non-profits. Dr. Powley earned his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his bachelor of arts in economics (major) and math (minor) from the University of Chicago. Dr. Powley began his career as a Research Associate with Professor Lauren Cohen and Chris Malloy at Harvard Business School.
